The Young and the Restless has no shortage of characters who’ve escaped accountability for their actions. Sharon is under fire for Heather’s death, but when you compare her situation to some of Genoa City’s most scandalous sinners, the double standards are glaring.
A Tale of Two Justice Systems
Take Phyllis Summers, for example. She mowed down Christine "The Bug" Blair in her car, faked her death, and took out Jeremy Stark (in self-defense)—as a result...a slap on the wrist, accountability there?
Then there’s Victor Newman, who has made a career out of shady dealings, covering up crimes, and manipulating everyone around him. For him to question whether Sharon is a threat? That’s rich coming from a man who’s built his empire on bending the rules and leaving a trail of destruction.
Sharon Deserves a Fair Shake
Yes, Sharon has made mistakes, but let’s not pretend she’s the only one in Genoa City with blood on her hands—or at least some serious skeletons in her closet. If anything, Sharon’s guilt over her actions and willingness to take responsibility shows a level of remorse and humanity that Victor and Phyllis rarely display.
Let’s Keep It Fair
Before throwing Sharon under the bus, maybe Genoa City should take a collective look in the mirror. Holding her accountable is one thing, but she shouldn’t have to carry the weight of every crime while others get off scot-free.
