Why General Hospital Star Chad Duell is Taking a Step Back.
In a candid conversation on the DailyDrama Podcast on Sunday, December 29th, Chad Duell, known for his role as Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, opened up about his decision to step away from the soap. The actor shared personal and heartfelt reasons for his much-needed break.
"A lot of stuff has been going on in my life," Duell revealed. "My dad passed away," he said, noting that he’s still processing the loss. This life-changing event, along with other personal priorities, has led him to focus on self-care and family.
Duell also expressed his intent to spend more time in Arizona, but life has made that increasingly difficult. “Luana has school, and Dawson, you know, he goes to his daycare out here," the actor explained. Despite these challenges, he emphasized his focus on personal growth, saying, "Right now, I’m just trying to grow in ways — mentally and physically — and prepare myself for whatever comes next.”
As for his future with General Hospital, Duell shared that the door remains open for his return. “Obviously, with Frank [Valentini, GH’s executive producer] and everything, the door is open there. So we’ll see what happens in the future.”
