Beyond The Gates Spoilers October 1: Martin's Reelection Is In Jeopardy
Martin faces a potentially devastating problem as his re-election is suddenly in jeopardy. Two major issues threaten his campaign: Hayley claims to have recordings of a past incident involving Martin, with Bill and Vernon implicated in covering it up, and Smitty's legal troubles connected to Lia Whitmore's investigation might affect Martin. The exact reason for Martin's campaign danger is unconfirmed, but the timing is critical.
Kat and Tomas have faced challenges since Kat learned Tomas initially agreed to represent Hayley, though he later withdrew. Tomas was hurt by Kat's assumption of betrayal, and Izaiah advised her to reevaluate her trust issues. Now, they seem to be reconnecting. Thursday's spoilers suggest they might unite against a common enemy, likely Hayley.
Bill may have agreed to Hayley's demands, but he's not feeling good about it. Dani is there to bolster him. She admitted to Nicole that losing Bill would shatter her and Chelsea, and Andre doesn't know Hayley pointed a gun at her. Dani's support makes it harder to ignore their emotional connection.
Chelsea struggles with the aftermath of Hayley's actions. After confronting Hayley at Orphey Gene's, where they had a heated exchange, Chelsea learned Bill plans to drop the charges. Her anger is misdirected at Dr. Madison Montgomery. Chelsea vents to Madison, who may understand the anger isn't truly about her.
Jacob encounters familial resistance over evidence he's gathered. Could Naomi push back against what Jacob has discovered? Or could the resistance come from Elon? Jacob is a by-the-book police officer, which can create uncomfortable situations when an investigation gets close to people he loves. If the evidence points somewhere his family doesn't want it to, Jacob could soon have to decide how hard he's willing to push.
Hayley confronts Caroline about carrying out her scheme against Bill, which means Caroline could have some very strong feelings about discovering she'd been used. Hayley manipulated plenty of people while presenting herself as Bill's devoted wife. Caroline may now realize she was one of them.
