If Vernon discovers Hayley knows more than he realized—or learns just how much leverage she has over Bill—he may not be willing to simply sit back and hope she leaves town quietly. Bill paid the price Hayley demanded. That doesn't necessarily mean Vernon intends to play by the same rules.
Anita's Homecoming Party Tests the New Normal.
Anita's homecoming celebration is meant for relaxation but could become a relationship test. Ted and Nicole must navigate their new dynamics with Shanice and Kial. While both have supposedly moved on, there's a difference between saying you're okay with your ex's new relationship and witnessing it. Ted is with Shanice, and Nicole is with Kial, so everything should be fine, right? Shanice understands Ted's past with the Duprees, while Nicole is starting anew with Kial. The party might reveal if old feelings between Ted and Nicole are truly gone or just dormant.
Bill Comes Clean to Elon.
Hayley used information connected to Martin and Vernon's long-buried roadside scandal as leverage. Rather than risk that secret coming out—and potentially putting himself and others in legal jeopardy—Bill gave Hayley what she wanted. Friday finds Bill coming clean to Elon. How much will Bill reveal? Elon's history with the situation makes him one of the few people who may understand exactly why Bill believed he had no other choice. But sharing the truth also means Hayley's blackmail secret is no longer contained between Hayley and Bill. And that could change the game.
Andre Has Harsh Words For Dani.
Dani's relationship with Bill could be at the heart of the disagreement. Throughout Bill's poisoning ordeal, Dani has remained deeply involved. She stayed by Bill's side, admitted the possibility of losing him would shatter her and Chelsea, helped him return to work, and continued providing emotional support. Bill even warned Dani that Andre might not appreciate her hovering around her ex-husband. Dani insisted Andre understood. Friday may prove otherwise. If he believes Dani is withholding information while simultaneously growing closer to Bill, their relationship could be headed into dangerous territory.
Heather Is in the Catbird Seat.
She's in the catbird seat, meaning she appears to hold the advantage as her battle with Joey continues. That's particularly troubling considering everything happening around her. Vanessa was carjacked. Smitty believes he's being framed for Lia's death and has pointed the finger at the woman known as the Impaler. And Joey clearly believes Vanessa needs protection. Heather may have several people watching her now, but that doesn't mean she's losing control. In fact, she may believe she's exactly where she wants to be.
Joey Plots to Protect Vanessa.
Joey isn't going to wait for Vanessa to become somebody else's victim. The question is how far Joey is prepared to go. Vanessa's carjacking has already escalated the danger surrounding her, and Joey knows better than most what Heather may be capable of. If Joey believes his sister is responsible, protecting Vanessa could mean going directly against Heather. And a Joey-versus-Heather family war isn't likely to remain civilized for long. Heather may currently have the upper hand, but Joey is preparing his response.
