At this point, somebody planning Billy Abbott and Sally Spectra’s wedding needs to forget about the flowers, the cake, and the seating chart for five minutes and focus on the real emergency:

Preferably somewhere Billy can’t see him. Because on September 21, The Young and the Restless proved once again that Billy and Adam apparently cannot occupy the same room, share the same drink, or breathe the same Genoa City air without turning it into another round of their never-ending rivalry. And now we’re supposed to put these two anywhere near a wedding? Good luck with that.
Billy Has One Very Simple Request: Keep Adam Away
Billy doesn’t want Adam at his wedding, which is unsurprising given their history. Sally’s decision to ask Chelsea to be a bridesmaid complicates matters, as Chelsea is with Adam, raising the question of whether Adam will attend. Billy is clear: absolutely not. However, telling Adam he's unwelcome often has the opposite effect. At the Genoa City Athletic Club, Billy expressed his stance, and Adam, true to form, provoked him. Adam hinted he wouldn't refuse Chelsea if she wanted him there, adding a sarcastic remark about ruining Billy’s day. These men can't discuss a wedding without it sounding like a prize fight.
Adam Knows Exactly Which Buttons to Push
Their scenes are entertaining but exhausting for everyone around them. Adam knows Billy doesn't want him there, and Billy knows Adam knows. Yet, this continues. Adam could have ignored Billy's disruption at the wedding, but he finds fun in teasing him. Adam's presence bothers Billy, which motivates Adam to keep pushing. When Billy says, “Stay away,” Adam hears, “Please come closer.”
But Billy Isn't Exactly Taking the High Road
Adam deserves criticism for provoking Billy, but Billy isn't innocent either; he engages every time. A sarcastic remark from Adam and Billy is ready for battle. Someone needs to stop taking the bait. As Billy prepares to marry Sally, he should focus on his happiness rather than worry about Adam's presence at the wedding. If Adam attends because Chelsea wants him there, Billy doesn't have to like it—just endure a few hours without turning the reception into a fight. Surely that's possible. Right? Maybe hire security anyway.
And Poor Sally Is Standing in the Middle
The bride's feelings are important. Sally asked Chelsea to be her bridesmaid, showing they've moved past their history, which is progress. Now, men are complicating things by discussing wedding attendance. If Sally and Chelsea can reconcile, Billy and Adam should coexist at the reception. If not, use assigned seating.
The Wedding Could Become the Ultimate Test
Soaps thrive on drama, and Adam's presence at Billy's wedding is a perfect setup. Billy wants Adam gone, but Chelsea might want him there, and Sally has included Chelsea in her wedding plans. Adam knows his presence will annoy Billy. What could go wrong? Everything. The real question is whether Adam and Billy can set aside their feud for once. They've spent years antagonizing each other, with no sign of stopping. Perhaps Sally should avoid a seating chart: put Billy at the altar, Adam far away, and let everyone enjoy cake.
