Bryton James Files For Divorce From Wife Jahaira James
TMZ reports that The Young and the Restless star Bryton James has filed for divorce from his wife, Jahaira James, citing irreconcilable differences. They married in March 2025 and separated in June 2025. Bryton seeks to terminate spousal support and requests that Jahaira restore her former name. The couple has no children.
Fans were surprised to learn that the Emmy-winning actor had secretly married earlier this year. The couple, who kept their relationship private, divorced after a few months. Bryton and Jahaira have not publicly commented on the breakup.
Bryton's been down the marriage road before. He was married to Ashley Leisinger, and they tied the knot on March 16, 2011. The wedding was officiated by his long-time Y&R co-star Christian LeBlanc (you know, Michael Baldwin). Bryton and Ashley called it quits in 2014, but remain friends.
Bryton James gained recognition as Richie Crawford on the '90s show Family Matters with Jaleel White and Reginald VelJohnson. In 2004, he joined The Young and the Restless as Devon Hamilton Winters, earning two Daytime Emmy Awards and becoming a standout in daytime TV.
For over 20 years, Bryton has portrayed Devon, exploring storylines of loss, love, and family legacy in Genoa City.
