Another major casting shake-up is coming to General Hospital.
Chris McKenna Reportedly Exiting General Hospital
According to a report from Soap Opera Network, Chris McKenna, who stepped into the role of Jack Brennan in February 2025 after taking over from Charles Mesure, is reportedly exiting the ABC daytime drama. The report claims Brennan will be killed off this fall, though McKenna's final airdate has not yet been revealed.
McKenna stepped into the role following Mesure's departure and quickly made the character his own. His version of Brennan evolved from a mysterious intelligence operative into one of the soap's most polarizing leading men, particularly through his relationships with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and, more recently, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). Last year, McKenna was also promoted to contract status after initially joining the series in a recurring capacity.
The character will be killed off in the fall as the show leans heavily into storylines surrounding the World Security Bureau (WSB), the fictional organization in which his character serves as director of operations in Port Charles.
