Marlena and Roman: Is the show quietly steering in this direction again? If so... why? Marlena and Roman share decades of history, but for many fans, Marlena's great love story will always be John Black. Revisiting Roman romantically risks feeling like a step backward instead of an exciting new chapter.

At the end of the day, romance is the heartbeat of a soap opera. Fans don't just want couples—they want chemistry, emotional investment, and relationships worth rooting for.

Right now, Salem has plenty of romances... but not many that truly make viewers say, "I can't wait to see what happens next."
