According to information from Jason47’s Days of Our Lives website, Lauren Koslow (Kate Brady), Jacob Richard Martinez (Javi Hernandez), Sydney Malakeh (Sydney DiMera), and Sal Stowers (Lani Grant) all received contract status during September.
And suddenly, those strange-looking credits make a whole lot more sense.

Fans who pay close attention to the closing credits may have noticed something unusual during the week of September 7.
Lani was included in the credits even though Sal Stowers did not appear that week. Meanwhile, Kate and Javi subsequently began showing up in credits before they actually appeared in episodes.
At first glance, those listings looked like mistakes. Instead, they appear to have been early signs of contract changes happening behind the scenes.
Jason47’s weekly records for September 7-11 listed Koslow, Martinez, Stowers and newcomer Malakeh among the credited performers. The site notes that its weekly guest-star records are based on the cast credits that air during the week.
The individual contract dates provide an even clearer picture.
Lauren Koslow returned to contract status on September 8. Jacob Richard Martinez was elevated to contract on September 10. Sydney Malakeh debuted on contract on September 10, while Sal Stowers officially returned to contract status on September 16.
Jason47 has indicated that the site's records will be corrected to reflect the new information.
Javi and Sydney’s Credit Placement Now Makes Sense
There was another clue hiding right in plain sight.
Some viewers may have wondered why Javi and Sydney were suddenly being listed ahead of Rafe Hernandez and Philip Kiriakis in the credits. Contract status explains the unusual placement. Rather than being a random reshuffling of the cast list, the credits were signaling that Martinez and Malakeh had moved into the contract cast while other familiar Salem residents were appearing under a different status.
