Trouble at Horton Square

At the Salem PD, Jada was on the phone with JJ about the chaos at Horton Square when Paulina and Theo arrived. Theo was unsettled by JJ being back in uniform.

Later, in the darkened Horton Square, Theo encountered JJ. JJ, unaware of who was approaching, nervously called out to Theo to stop. Although JJ quickly apologized, the situation was already tense.

Theo accused JJ of repeating past behavior, saying, “It’s a good thing you didn’t have a gun this time. I could be dead. You saw a Black man in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

Old Wounds Reopened

Theo rejected JJ’s apology and decided to go to City Hall alone to get Paulina’s phone, declining JJ’s offer to accompany him. When JJ asked about Theo’s distance since his return, Theo reminded him that their friendship ended when JJ shot him, leading to JJ’s resignation from the force due to poor judgment. Theo questioned JJ’s return to the force without consulting him, asserting that the new incident showed JJ still lacked judgment. Theo then walked away, leaving JJ shaken.

Theo Confronts Jada

Back at the SPD, power was finally restored. Paulina turned the conversation to Theo’s concerns about JJ’s reinstatement. That’s when Theo stormed in, insisting that the night’s events only confirmed his fears.

Theo demanded that Jada talk to JJ about racial profiling. When Jada asked for clarification, Theo dismissed it, saying he was too tired and just wanted to go home. Paulina left with him, leaving Jada stunned.

JJ Left Reflecting

In the final segment of the episode, JJ is seated alone on a bench in the square, bewildered by the encounter with Theo, as he gazes at his badge.
