Al Calderon is making moves from Salem to primetime! The Days of Our Lives actor, who has portrayed Javi Hernandez since his October 28, 2024, debut on the Peacock soap, has landed a major role on NBC’s Brilliant Minds.

According to Deadline, Calderon will appear in the medical drama’s upcoming second season, premiering this September, as Nurse Scotty Silva. The character is described as the charismatic “Mayor of Bronx General,” running the hospital with warmth, humor, and an undeniable charm. Whether it’s his friendly personality or his knack for knowing everyone’s business, Silva is the go-to person behind the scenes at the hospital.

Calderon joins new series regulars Brian Altemus and John Clarence Stewart, alongside returning cast members Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II, Teddy Sears, and Donna Murphy. Additionally, Bellamy Young recently joined the series as a recurring guest star.

The role marks an exciting career step for Calderon, who is coming off his contract run on Days of Our Lives. He is represented by Cultured Artists, AKA Talent Agency, and Felker Toczek Suddleson.

With Brilliant Minds Season 2 set to debut in September, fans will soon get to see Calderon trade the drama of Salem for the fast-paced halls of Bronx General.
