Emotions erupted in Salem as Days of Our Lives delivered one of its most heartbreaking episodes yet.
Days Recap For Monday, October 20, 2025: Sophia Breaks Down
Roman told Brady there was one vacant room above the Pub, leading Brady and Steve to rush upstairs. They managed to unlock the door just in time to grab Sophia before she could run.
Outside, Amy once again slapped Johnny, furious that he’d caused her daughter’s disappearance. She accused him of being “just another lying DiMera” and even threatened to sue. But before she could storm off, Johnny looked through the Pub window and pointed out Sophia with Steve and Brady. Inside, Sophia froze when she saw her mother—but Amy rushed in and pulled her into a tearful hug, begging her to deny the rumors.
Sophia couldn’t. Tearfully, she confessed that everything was true — she wasn’t the perfect daughter Amy imagined. She revealed that her mother’s suffocating control was the reason she gave birth alone in her bedroom. Sophia insisted she hid the pregnancy because Amy and Tate would’ve forced her to keep the baby she didn’t want. “And if Johnny hadn’t backed out, none of this would’ve happened!” she cried.
The room fell silent as Amy broke down, devastated that her daughter had gone through so much alone. But when Leo and Javi entered, Amy immediately ran to hold her grandson — and that’s when Sophia snapped. She began hitting herself and screaming,
“I can’t take this anymore!” before collapsing in Brady’s arms.
At the hospital, Sarah tended to Sophia and informed everyone that while she was physically fine, she had suffered a psychological break and developed selective mutism. A psych consult was ordered. As Brady called Marlena for help, Amy sat by her daughter’s bedside, promising she’d do anything to make things right. Holding her unresponsive daughter, Amy whispered, “We’ll figure this out. I promise.”
