Dominic Winters Is Being Recast: Meet Ethan Ray Clark!

The Young and the Restless is giving one of its youngest legacy characters a fresh new chapter! Soap newcomer Ethan Ray Clark has officially been cast as Dominic Winters, taking over the role beginning January 23rd.

Clark steps into the part previously played by twins River & Rainn Ware, who portrayed Dominic from his onscreen birth in 2021. With Dominic growing up fast, the show has opted to slightly age the character—a classic soap move that signals bigger story possibilities ahead.

A Look Back: Dominic’s Dramatic Origin Story

To refresh your memory, Dominic’s arrival was one of the biggest storylines of 2021:

  • Chance (then played by Donny Boaz) discovered he was unable to father a child.

  • Abby struggled with the heartbreak of not being able to carry a baby to term.

  • Devon generously stepped in to be the sperm donor, and

  • Mariah (Camryn Grimes) acted as the surrogate.

But in true Genoa City fashion, the journey was far from smooth. Mariah was kidnapped by Stitch Rayburn (Sean Carrigan), leading to a frantic search by Abby and Devon. Once found, Mariah safely delivered the baby boy, who would soon be named Dominic Philip Newman Abbott Chancellor.

What’s Next for Dominic?

With Ethan Ray Clark joining the cast, fans can expect Dominic to step into the story in a more impactful way. Child recasts often signal that the show is ready to expand a character’s presence—opening the door for family drama, emotional beats, and maybe even new conflicts for Abby, Devon, and Chance.
