“She’s Not Evil — Just a Girl With a Crush!”
Fans of The Bold and the Beautiful have been buzzing ever since Sydney Bullock stepped back into the role of Dylan — and now, the actress is shedding new light on her comeback and her character’s surprising motivations.
Dylan Returns, But She’s Not the Villain, Says Bullock
A Surprise Call… Right Before a Month-Long Trip!
Bullock first appeared as Dylan in July 2025, but a new plot twist arrived behind the scenes just as she was preparing for the trip of a lifetime.
In a new Soap Opera Digest chat, Bullock revealed that B&B called with an unexpected offer:
“I was so excited… I was not expecting it. The night before I left for Europe — my first time traveling abroad — my team called and said, ‘Hey, Bold and the Beautiful wants you back.’ I’m like, ‘Okay, great. I can cancel the trip, or I’ll come back in the middle.’ So I came back in the middle. And I was so excited to be back.”

“She’s Just a Girl With a Crush”
Viewers have been debating Dylan’s intentions ever since she started getting close to Will — much to Electra’s discomfort. But Bullock insists Dylan isn’t trying to be the villain.
“Honestly, I think she’s just a girl with a crush,” she explains.“She cares about Electra. She doesn’t want to be disrespectful… but she gets swept up in this guy who was really sweet and helped her out.”
Bullock describes Dylan as being stuck in an emotional tug-of-war:
She values Electra
She’s drawn to Will
And she’s trying (and failing) to walk a respectful line
When Will appears to flirt back, the actress says, “It’s hard not to get swept up in it. What is a girl to do?”
“I’m Not Luna in a Mask!”
With Will caught between Electra and Dylan — and traumatic memories of Luna’s obsessive storyline still haunting B&B fans — many viewers wondered if the show was teasing another unhinged love-triangle twist.
Bullock wants everyone to take a deep breath.
“As far as I know, I’m not Luna in a mask or Luna with plastic surgery to look like Dylan,” she jokes.
Instead, she describes Dylan as:
Genuine, not conniving
Not a psychopath
Possibly a little rebellious
“Not Luna 2.0 — but maybe not as sweet and innocent as Electra.”
And importantly:
“She’s not putting people in cages.”

So Who Is Dylan?
Bullock’s take paints a much more nuanced picture:
She isn’t evil
She isn’t unhinged
She isn’t out to steal Will as a scheme
She’s simply navigating her feelings… messily
And she may bend some rules — unintentionally
What fans can expect is a complex, morally gray, relatable young woman — not a villain.
