Eric Braeden Back On Set After Battling Pneumonia — “It Hit Me Like A Ton Of Bricks”
In a candid video shared on his Facebook page, Braeden revealed that he had been battling pneumonia for roughly two weeks. The illness didn’t just affect him — his son, film director Christian Gudegast, and one of his granddaughters were also sick. However, Braeden admitted that due to his age, his case was more severe. “I had pneumonia for about two weeks,” Braeden shared, adding that he “had it a bit worse than others.”
Despite the difficult experience, the Emmy-winning actor is now on the mend and feeling grateful. He credited modern medicine and antibiotics for helping him recover quickly. “How nice it is to come out of that kind of sickness,” Braeden said. “Pneumonia is no walk in the park. In fact, you can’t walk. That’s the point. It hits you like a ton of bricks.”
Now back at work, Braeden is taking a more mindful approach to his health moving forward. “One thing age has taught me: to be more careful that way,” he noted.
Fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that Genoa City’s powerhouse patriarch is recovering well — and easing back into action.
