The longtime Days of Our Lives star is set to make his Young and the Restless debut on June 19th as Aristotle Dumas — a new character whose arrival is sure to stir up intrigue. But before he makes waves on Y&R, here are five things you might not know about the actor behind the role.

1. He’s a Minnesota native.

Billy Flynn was born on May 20, 1985, in St. Francis, Minnesota. He grew up in the Midwest before setting his sights on bigger stages — first in finance, then in Hollywood.

2. He has a background in finance.

Flynn graduated from St. Cloud State University, where he majored in finance. Far from the soap world, he initially pursued a corporate path before his passion for acting took over.

3. He worked at Warner Bros. before switching gears.

In August 2010, Flynn landed a job at Warner Bros., where he worked as a financial analyst for four years. That insider view of the entertainment industry may have helped fuel his career shift into acting.

4. He made his Days of Our Lives debut in 2014.

Flynn officially entered the soap world in 2014, taking over the role of Chad DiMera from Casey Deidrick. Over the next decade, he became a fan favorite and was central to some of Days' most dramatic storylines.

5. His move to Y&R was announced in March 2025, but he’s not done with Salem yet.

In March 2025, it was revealed that Flynn would be departing Days to join The Young and the Restless. But thanks to advanced taping schedules, viewers will continue to see him as Chad DiMera well into 2026.
