A Year Ago.

Jaden Lucas Miller received the call that would forever change his life — the confirmation that he had booked the role of Tyrell Richardson on Beyond The Gates, the biggest Black daytime soap opera to debut in the last 25 years.

For Miller, it wasn’t just a career breakthrough. It was divine alignment.

Miller recalls the moment the journey began in 2023, when his mother called him into her room with a bold declaration: “J, I think you need to be on a soap opera.”

He admits he barely knew what a soap opera even was at the time. But his mother, recognizing something in him he couldn’t yet see, began educating him on legendary soap stars and iconic daytime storytelling before calling his agent to push for submissions.

Soon after came an audition for General Hospital. Miller didn’t book the role — but that setback became part of what he now sees as a much bigger plan.

Then Came November 3rd.

While sitting in class, Miller received the call from his mom that left him stunned: “They’re launching a Black soap opera, and you will play Tyrell.”

Confused, he reminded her that he hadn’t even auditioned. But her response was one he would never forget: “This role was created for you. God heard my prayers — He told me it was coming.”

Now, one year later, Miller stands proudly as Tyrell Richardson, one of the core characters powering CBS’s hit series Beyond The Gates. His story is one of faith, preparation, vision — and a mother’s unwavering belief.
