From Three Episodes to Three Years! General Hospital’s Asher Antonyzyn Celebrates a Major Milestone as Danny Morgan
Sometimes the smallest opportunities lead to the biggest surprises, and General Hospital's Asher Antonyzyn knows that better than most.
The young actor, who plays Danny Morgan on the ABC soap, is celebrating three years in Port Charles. And according to his heartfelt Instagram post, he originally wasn't supposed to stick around nearly this long!
Three Episodes Turned Into Three Years
Antonyzyn shared the surprising story behind his General Hospital journey, revealing that his initial commitment was for just three episodes.
"Three episodes. That was the original commitment," he wrote, explaining that there was a possibility the writers might expand his role.
Thankfully, that's exactly what happened!
Now, three years later, Antonyzyn is preparing to enter his fourth year portraying Danny Morgan, the son of Jason Morgan and the late Sam McCall.
It's quite a milestone for an actor whose character has become increasingly involved in the younger generation's drama in Port Charles.
A Special Thank-You to Steve Burton
One of the most touching parts of Antonyzyn's anniversary message was his tribute to his onscreen father, Steve Burton.
The actor thanked Burton for teaching him, working alongside him, and helping him grow into the role of Jason Morgan's son.
Their father-son relationship has become an important part of Danny's story, particularly as the young Morgan navigates family responsibilities, complicated relationships, and the challenges of growing up in Port Charles.
And for longtime GH viewers, watching Jason step into his role as Danny's father has provided some memorable moments.
Grateful for the People Who Believed in Him
Antonyzyn also expressed appreciation for the people who helped make his three-year journey possible.
He thanked casting director Mark Teschner and Frank Valentini for giving him the opportunity, along with Holly Gagnier for coaching him and helping him develop his acting skills.
He also acknowledged the many cast members and behind-the-scenes professionals who made him feel welcome.
But he saved some especially meaningful words for the viewers who have supported Danny's story.
Antonyzyn thanked GH fans for welcoming him and supporting his character, explaining how much their encouragement means to him.
What's Next for Danny Morgan?
With Danny becoming more involved in Port Charles storylines, fans have plenty of reasons to wonder what his fourth year might bring. From his relationship with Jason to his connections with Rocco, Scout, and the rest of the younger crowd, Danny has plenty of opportunities for new drama.
Could the coming year bring more family conflict, romance, or a storyline that puts Danny front and center?
One thing is certain: Antonyzyn is excited about whatever comes next.
He closed his anniversary message with a heartfelt reflection:
"Three episodes turned into three years. Can’t wait to see what year four brings. ❤️"
And judging by the support he's received from fans, plenty of viewers are eager to find out, too!
Congratulations to Asher Antonyzyn on three years at General Hospital!
