The Amazon Prime Video series, created by Outer Banks co-creator Jonas Pate, followed a group of recent high school graduates chasing their dreams of making it big in the music industry. Lipton starred alongside real-life bandmates Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock, and Jesse Golliher, blending fiction with their real musical journey.
After all six episodes of Season 1 were released, fans were hopeful for more—but Lipton has now revealed that the show has officially been canceled.
Taking to Instagram, the actor shared an emotional message with fans:
“No season 2 :( it’s a bummer but just wanted to express my deepest love and gratitude for everything and everyone involved with this project. It’s been an insane almost 6 years and my life has been forever changed for the better. Big thank you to everyone who watched and supported. We’ll catch you futhermuckers on the road got plenty more shows and more coming if yall want 💙 keep dreaming no small dream and write love songs that change the world 🌎”
While the cancellation is disappointing, Lipton made it clear that this isn’t the end of The Runarounds—just a new chapter. The band will continue performing and creating music, giving fans another way to stay connected to the group beyond the screen.
