According to TVInsider, co-head writers Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten teased, “Twists and turns, suspense and surprises — anchored with emotion. Our characters are going through a lot, facing challenges, making mistakes — there are triumphs, failures, wrong turns… What makes it matter are the emotions they experience — why they make the choices they do — and above all, the love the characters have for each other — familial love, fraternal love, deep abiding friendship, and always romance!”

Monica Quartermaine’s Death Shakes Port Charles

One of fall’s most emotional arcs will be the devastating loss of Monica Quartermaine. The Quartermaine family, alongside much of Port Charles, will gather to say goodbye to a woman who defined the heart of the show for nearly 50 years. Jason and Tracy (Jane Elliot) will feel the loss most profoundly, but grief will ripple through the community. And as Korte and Van Etten previewed, for some, Monica’s passing won’t just be a time of mourning; it’ll be an opportunity. Adding to the intrigue, Erika Slezak makes her highly anticipated debut as a character with surprising Quartermaine ties and secrets that could change the family forever.

Ryan Paevey Returns.

The shocker many fans have been waiting for, Ryan Paevey, is returning! His reappearance raises jaw-dropping questions: how did he survive Faison’s shooting? Where has he been all this time? And what will his return mean for Maxie, especially as she battles her illness? Paevey's return promises both mystery and romantic chaos that will shake up several storylines.

Will Michael Corinthos Embrace His Dark Side?

Michael (Rory Gibson) continues to battle for custody, but this fall, he gains the upper hand. Alexis’s (Nancy Lee Grahn) world spins out of control this fall. Between dealing with Ric (Rick Hearst) in her basement, keeping peace between Ava (Maura West) and Kristina (Kate Mansi), protecting Molly (Kristen Vaganos), clinging to Scout, and worrying about Danny, she’s stretched to the breaking point. But a shocking act late in the summer lands Alexis in the PCPD’s crosshairs, proving that Ric may be the least of her problems.

With Britt’s shocking return earlier this year, Rory Gibson’s debut as Michael, Kathleen Gati reprising Liesl, and Kirsten Storms stepping away as Maxie (with a return still to come), General Hospital has already delivered major surprises. But September takes the drama to a whole new level.
