General Hospital’s Braedyn Bruner and Giovanni Mazza Visit Kelly and Mark
General Hospital stars Braedyn Bruner, who plays Emma Scorpio-Drake, and Giovanni Mazza, who portrays Gio Palmieri, enjoyed a fun behind-the-scenes conversation with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos at Live with Kelly and Mark.

In a reel shared from the set, the hosts asked the young actors how long they had been on General Hospital. Mazza revealed that he had been on the soap for approximately two and a half years, while Bruner said she was approaching her second anniversary.
When Ripa asked Bruner whether she worked with Finola Hughes, Bruner explained that Hughes plays her on-screen grandmother, Anna Devane.
“Ah, yes! She’s the best,” Ripa responded.
Bruner added that Hughes had instructed her to say hello to everyone.
The conversation then turned to the demanding production schedule at General Hospital. When asked how many script pages they typically complete each day, Mazza estimated between 30 and 40 pages. Bruner noted that the number can sometimes be higher or lower.
The actors also revealed that the cast now films approximately eight episodes each week, with scenes from multiple episodes often recorded out of sequence. Mazza later estimated that they personally handle around 20 pages of dialogue per day.
Bruner and Mazza also shared how their working relationship began. Bruner screen-tested alongside Mazza before joining the soap, and the two have been frequent scene partners ever since.
“That’s how we met,” Ripa said, referring to her longtime partnership with Consuelos.
Before the conversation ended, Consuelos predicted that the two young stars might eventually find themselves hosting a talk show of their own.
“The future is, you’re probably going to wind up hosting a talk show,” he joked.
Judging by their natural chemistry and ease in front of the camera, Bruner and Mazza may have a future in daytime television that extends well beyond Port Charles.
