Young General Hospital star Gary James Fuller, who plays James West on the ABC soap, is on the mend after a frightening accident that landed him in the hospital for nearly a week.

In a heartfelt social media post, Fuller revealed that what began as a ride on his mini bike quickly turned into a trip to the trauma center, two surgeries, and an unexpected hospital stay.

"So...I pulled a 'James,'" Fuller joked, referencing his character's history of finding himself in emergency situations on General Hospital.

The young actor shared that he suffered injuries serious enough to require two surgeries and almost a week of hospitalization. Despite the ordeal, Fuller maintained his trademark sense of humor and positive outlook throughout his recovery.

"The good news is that I'm doing well and getting stronger every day," he wrote, expressing gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff who cared for him during his stay.

Fuller also thanked the many fans, friends, and colleagues who reached out with prayers, messages, and support. He noted that his General Hospital family rallied around him with FaceTime calls, encouragement, and check-ins throughout his recovery.

"I got so much love from my castmates, casting, wardrobe, my studio teachers, agents, manager, and so many people behind the scenes," Fuller shared. "It meant a lot to know I had such a big team cheering me on while I recovered."

While the hospital food didn't earn rave reviews, Fuller had plenty of praise for the nursing staff, joking that "the nurses are awesome."

Now back home, the young actor says he's healing well and is eager to return to the activities he loves, including baseball, racing, and filming scenes for General Hospital.

As for future emergency room visits?

"But just so everyone knows...from now on, I'm going to let James handle the ER storylines," Fuller quipped.

Soap fans will undoubtedly be relieved to hear that Fuller is recovering well and looking forward to getting back to work.
