General Hospital fans won't have to wait much longer for Jason Morgan's return, and according to Soap Opera Digest, he won't be the same man who left Port Charles.

Steve Burton is set to reprise his iconic role beginning with General Hospital's milestone 16,000th episode on July 13, marking one of the biggest events of the summer.
Jason has been off-screen since March, when he took the fall for shooting Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) in order to protect Rocco. After his arrest, Jason was taken into WSB custody overseas, leaving his family and loved ones to wonder if they'd ever see him again.
Now, executive producers Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten are teasing that Jason's ordeal has permanently changed him.
"Jason returns from abroad a changed man. His imprisonment has had a profound effect on his outlook, and how he intends to conduct the rest of his life."
That transformation won't just affect Jason—it will send shockwaves throughout Port Charles. The producers reveal that Jason's new perspective will have major consequences for several of the people closest to him, including his son Danny, Britt, and Sonny. With Danny growing up in Jason's absence, father and son may have to navigate an entirely new relationship.
