While Rogers did not disclose the type of cancer, the statement shared that “he remains hopeful and is working closely with his medical team on a treatment plan.” It continued, “This is a challenging time for Tristan and his family. As they face both the emotional and physical burdens that come with this diagnosis, the family kindly asks for privacy and understanding. They are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support and love from their friends and family,” the statement continued. “Tristan sends his love to his fans and wants them to know how much he appreciates their loyalty and encouragement over the years. This support means more to him now than ever.”

Updates regarding his condition will be shared if and when the family deems appropriate.

Rogers made his first appearance as the Australian spy-turned-police commissioner on General Hospital on December 2, 1980, and quickly became one of the show’s most beloved heroes. He remained in the role until 1992 and has returned multiple times over the decades, with his most recent run concluding in November 2024.

In addition to his work on GH, Rogers also portrayed the charming rogue Colin Atkinson on The Young and the Restless.
