GH Alum Tajh Bellow Steps In as Theo Carver on Days of Our Lives
General Hospital fans are about to see a familiar face pop up in Salem — but don’t get too attached to this particular recast.
GH Alum Tajh Bellow Steps In as Theo Carver on Days of Our Lives
Former GH star Tajh Bellow, best known to daytime viewers as Dr. TJ Ashford, is temporarily stepping into the role of Theo Carver on Days of Our Lives. According to TV Insider, Bellow will appear as Theo for one episode on Tuesday, October 6. The brief switch happened because Theo’s regular portrayer, Tyler Joseph Andrews, was unavailable when the episode was filmed last December. That opened the door for Bellow to make a very short trip from Port Charles to Salem.
Tajh Bellow Shares Scenes With Gabi
Even though Bellow is only filling in for a single episode, DAYS isn't keeping the former GH actor on the sidelines.
Bellow will share scenes with Cherie Jimenez, who plays Gabi Hernandez.
A DAYS spokesperson told TV Insider that Bellow stepped seamlessly into the role and that the cast and crew appreciated his professionalism and commitment during his brief stint.
So, while viewers shouldn't expect a permanent Theo recast, Bellow's appearance gives soap fans a fun daytime crossover.
Tyler Joseph Andrews remains the current Theo Carver. Andrews took over the role in 2025 and has been featured prominently in Theo's story throughout 2026. TV Insider's fall preview has Theo at a crossroads following the loss of his mother, Lexie, and his growing problems with the way the DiMeras conduct business.
GH Fans Know Tajh Bellow as TJ Ashford
Of course, General Hospital viewers know Bellow from his years as TJ Ashford.
Bellow joined GH as a recast in November 2018 and remained with the ABC soap until his contract concluded in early 2025.
His final stretch on General Hospital gave TJ some especially emotional material. TJ and Molly Lansing-Davis' plans to become parents ended in tragedy after their surrogacy journey and the loss of their baby, putting tremendous strain on their longtime relationship.
Bellow's work on GH also earned him two Daytime Emmy nominations — Outstanding Younger Performer in 2021 and Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2025.
Now, he's adding another major daytime soap to his résumé, even if his visit to Salem only lasts for a day.
