On Wednesday, Daytime Emmy winner Greg Vaughan broke his silence for the first time since news surfaced that he’s joined the cast of CBS Daytime’s newest hit soap, Beyond the Gates.

While his character’s identity remains a mystery, Vaughan confirmed in his announcement video that he’ll be portraying a brand-new role within the expanding world of The Gates.
“Well, it’s out. The official announcement from me to you,” Vaughan began. “I’ve seen and I’ve heard all the excitement and the reactions, the pride, even the tough conversations because I respect all of it. I’m grateful to all those who have embraced me, and are excitement for me for joining Beyond the Gates. That passion is what keeps daytime alive.”
Vaughan—known for his acclaimed roles on Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless—spoke passionately about the power of storytelling and what drew him to this new creative opportunity.
“I’ve always believed that storytelling has that power to bring us all together,” he continued. “To reflect and hear every voice, every walk of life, and the full spectrum of the human experience and beyond. The Gates was created to tell stories that are layered and diverse, that are human—deeply human—and that’s exactly what drew me in.”
In his closing remarks, Vaughan emphasized his respect for the show’s mission and the legacy it’s building:
“Joining Beyond the Gates in a world that celebrates representation, that has heart, and speaks truth in so many layers. I’m here to honor that foundation, not replace it.”
Though details about his debut airdate and character remain under wraps, Vaughan’s addition to Beyond the Gates marks another exciting milestone for CBS’s ambitious new daytime series.
