It’s Official: Jonathan Jackson Exits General Hospital!

After a highly anticipated return, Jonathan Jackson is once again bidding farewell to General Hospital — but fans can take comfort in knowing it may not be a permanent goodbye.

It’s Official: Jonathan Jackson Exits General Hospital!

TV Insider was the first to report the news of Jackson’s departure. The Emmy-winning actor, who stepped back into the role of Lucky Spencer in August 2024, will begin his final scenes next week as he makes his emotional goodbye rounds in Port Charles.

Though his latest stint was short-lived, Jackson’s presence brought heart and nostalgia back to the canvas, especially for longtime fans who watched Lucky grow up onscreen and endure love, loss, and legacy alongside the Spencer family.

“We were so glad Jonathan was able to reprise the role of Lucky, even if it was for a limited time,” said General Hospital executive producer Frank Valentini. “We wish him nothing but the best, and the door is always open for Jonathan to return.”

That’s a sentiment GH fans know well — Jackson has left and returned to the show several times since his 1993 debut. And while this may mark another chapter’s end, it’s clear that Lucky’s story — and Jackson’s — are far from finished.

Stay tuned to see how Lucky’s latest exit unfolds... and whether the road back to Port Charles will once again lead him home.
