On July 3rd, 2025, viewers witnessed Cole’s final scenes, as he passed away from complications of Legionnaires’ disease. In a moment that left fans heartbroken, Cole shared a tender goodbye and final kiss with longtime love Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) before taking his last breath.
Peck took to social media shortly after the episode aired to thank fans and reflect on the experience:
"Just a quick shout out as Cole takes his last breath on the show today — and with that, this chapter of my journey on The Young and the Restless comes to a close. I want to thank all of you — my fans, friends, and Y&R family — for welcoming me back with such incredible warmth and support. Your messages, posts and enthusiasm made this return deeply meaningful for me. I'll do a lil follow up with a video later today or this eve. Much love. ❤️"
Peck’s return to Genoa City was met with excitement from longtime fans who remembered his original run in the 1990s. His recent storyline, which reunited him with Victoria and introduced their daughter Claire, brought both nostalgia and emotional depth to the canvas.
