Johnny Wactor’s Mother Takes Legal Action To Access His Apple Devices

According to Us Weekly, Scarlett Wactor, the mother of late General Hospital star Johnny Wactor, is seeking a court order to access her son’s locked electronic devices as part of her duties as administrator of his estate.

She has asked the court to require Apple to assist in unlocking Johnny’s Apple laptop, desktop, and iPhone. She explained that, despite contacting the tech giant, Apple would not provide any assistance without a court order containing specific language. The company reportedly informed her that the order must explicitly state: “Apple is ordered by the court to assist in the recovery of [Johnny’s] personal data from their accounts, which may contain third-party, personally identifiable information or data.”

Scarlett said she has faced repeated obstacles in trying to shut down Johnny’s accounts and believes access to the devices would help her manage his estate properly. “I need to get into it. I need to access [them],” she told the court, adding that she hopes to recover valuable and meaningful content, particularly photos.

“I hope there is a bunch of good stuff on there,” she said.

Johnny Wactor, best known for playing Brando Corbin on General Hospital from 2020 to 2022, was shot and killed on May 25, 2024, during an attempted theft in Downtown Los Angeles. He was leaving his second job at the rooftop restaurant Level 8 when he encountered armed individuals and was fatally shot. He was just 37 years old.

The loss of Wactor sent shockwaves through the soap opera community and beyond, as co-stars, fans, and loved ones mourned his tragic passing. Now, his mother continues to navigate the difficult legal and emotional journey that follows — one that is made even harder by red tape.
