According to Stephanie Sloane’s soap newsletter, Mansi made the “very difficult decision” to leave General Hospital due to new projects and the need for more flexibility in her schedule, especially with husband Matt McInnis producing a series filming mostly abroad.
Mansi joined GH on May 24, 2023, taking over the role of Kristina from Lexi Ainsworth. Her debut marked a major recast for the Corinthos-Davis family, and she quickly stepped into heavy emotional material as Sonny and Alexis’ fiery daughter.
Mansi shared her gratitude for the experience, saying she is thankful to Frank, ABC, and the writers for the care they gave Kristina. She also called the role a “meaningful and unforgettable ride.”
Executive Producer Frank Valentini also supported her decision, praising Mansi’s work and making it clear that “the door is always open.”
Mansi came to General Hospital after her Emmy-winning run as Abigail Deveraux on Days of Our Lives, where she won the 2017 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
Now the big question is what happens next for Kristina. Will GH recast the role, write Kristina out, or leave the door open for Mansi’s return down the line?
