Kelly Monaco is remembering her former General Hospital co-star and close friend Billy Miller on what would have been his birthday — and this time, she’s sharing something deeply personal that he once asked her to give to the fans.

Monaco took to Instagram to mark Miller’s “heavenly birthday,” revealing that the late actor had sent her a letter several years ago after leaving
General Hospital and asked her to post it.
At the time, she didn’t.
But years later, Monaco decided it was finally time.
“It’s Billy Millers Heavenly birthday,” Monaco wrote. She explained that Miller had sent her the message after his GH departure because he wanted the people who supported his work — as well as those lucky enough to know him personally — to read his words.
“I didn’t,” Monaco admitted about posting it back then. “But… I know he wanted anyone who’s ever supported his work and or got to know him as a friend, to read this letter.”
She ended her message with a simple but emotional tribute: “He is a gift that keeps giving.”
Billy Miller Left a Lasting Mark on General Hospital
Miller joined General Hospital in 2014 as Jason Morgan before the character was eventually revealed to be Jason’s twin brother, Drew Cain. He remained with the ABC soap until 2019.
Before arriving in Port Charles, Miller was already a daytime favorite thanks to his Emmy-winning run as Billy Abbott on The Young and the Restless.
For GH viewers, however, his pairing with Monaco's Sam McCall became an especially memorable chapter. Their characters built a life together while everyone — including Drew himself — believed he was Jason.
Miller died in September 2023 at the age of 43, just days before his 44th birthday.
Now, Monaco is giving fans something Miller apparently wanted them to have all those years ago: his own words.
And perhaps that makes her decision to share the letter now even more meaningful. It isn’t simply another remembrance of Billy Miller. It’s something he personally wanted passed along to the people who supported him.
Years later, Kelly Monaco is finally helping him do exactly that.
