After six years away from Port Charles, Nathan Dean (formerly Nathan Parsons) is officially heading back to General Hospital as fan-favorite character Ethan Lovett.

According to TV Insider, Dean has already begun filming his return to the long-running ABC soap, marking the first time viewers will see Ethan since his 2020 appearance.
Executive producer Frank Valentini confirmed the exciting news in an exclusive statement:
“We are so excited that Nathan Dean is returning to General Hospital as Ethan this April. We have a great story planned — with, of course, a few twists along the way.”
Ethan Lovett’s History in Port Charles
Dean first debuted as Ethan Lovett on January 30, 2009, quickly making an impression as a charming con artist with a knack for poker and trouble. The character was eventually revealed to be the son of legendary adventurer Luke Spencer and super-spy Holly Sutton, tying him directly into one of General Hospital’s most iconic families.
During his original run from 2009 to 2012, Ethan became known for his roguish personality, witty banter, and complicated relationships in Port Charles.
After departing the canvas, Dean reprised the role for several guest appearances in 2013, 2015, and 2020, keeping the character connected to the show's evolving storylines.
When Will Ethan Return?
Fans won’t have to wait too long. Dean is expected to return to screens in mid-to-late April, though specific storyline details are being kept under wraps for now.
