In a heartfelt post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Varni revealed that his team is preparing a “loving montage” dedicated to the late actor, which will be included on General Hospital later this month. While the exact airdate has not yet been announced, fans are being encouraged to “keep an eye out” for the emotional tribute.

Anthony Geary passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025, due to complications from surgery while in Amsterdam. His death sent shockwaves through the daytime television community and sparked an outpouring of tributes from colleagues, fans, and former co-stars across generations.

Geary made his General Hospital debut on November 20, 1978, portraying Lorenzo “Luke” Spencer. Although initially intended as a short-term role, Luke quickly evolved into one of the most iconic characters in television history. The character’s popularity exploded into a full-fledged cultural phenomenon—most notably through Luke’s legendary romance with Laura Webber—forever cementing Geary’s place in soap opera history.

After nearly four decades on the ABC sudser, Geary officially retired from General Hospital in 2015. His final airdate aired on July 27, 2015, marking the end of an era for Port Charles. He later made a brief cameo appearance in 2017, delighting longtime viewers with one last glimpse of Luke Spencer.
