Star Performer Of The Week: Cameron Mathison

Cameron Mathison proved once again why he is one of General Hospital’s most versatile and commanding actors.

Star Performer Of The Week: Cameron Mathison

This week, Mathison’s portrayal of Drew Cain cemented the character as one of Port Charles’ most ruthless figures, a man willing to weaponize family, loyalty, and even children to maintain control.

It all began when Drew stormed in with Chase at his side and demanded that Danny (Anthony Antonyzyn) be arrested for taking Scout (Cosette Abinate) from camp without authorization. What should have been a family disagreement quickly escalated into something darker, exposing Drew’s increasingly manipulative side.

Later, Drew sank to a new low during a confrontation with Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn). In a chilling exchange, he dismissed Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) wishes altogether, coldly remarking that what Sam would or wouldn’t want doesn’t matter — because she’s not here. Drew then declared that Scout would have no contact with Alexis, Danny, or anyone else in her family, effectively cutting the little girl off from the people who love her most.

The tension reached its peak at the Metro Court when Drew approached young Wiley (Viron Weaver). After the encounter, Michael (Rory Gibson) was stunned to learn from Stella (Vernee Watson) that Drew had told Wiley his mother missed him. Michael exploded, but Drew stood smugly by his actions, claiming he had only told the boy “the truth.” In which at the end...Michael suckerpunched him.

From beginning to end, Mathison infused Drew with a chilling blend of arrogance and menace, reminding viewers that the once-heroic “Cutthroat Congressman” is now a full-fledged villain. Every glare, every cold remark, and every manipulative maneuver highlighted Mathison’s ability to transform Drew into one of Port Charles’ most compelling antagonists.

For his flawless performance in bringing Drew Cain’s diabolical side to life, Cameron Mathison is our Star Performer of the Week.
