Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson Are Making a Movie

General Hospital favorites Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson are taking their longtime friendship and undeniable chemistry to the movies. The real-life besties are developing a new holiday movie together, and if everything goes according to plan, it won’t be a one-and-done deal.
Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson Are Making a Movie
The still-untitled project is being described as a mix of quick-witted comedy, holiday romance, and a playful whodunit, following two unlikely partners who somehow stumble into a mystery in a charming small town at Christmas. In other words, Christmas lights, romance, suspicious behavior, a mystery to solve, and Steve and Bradford bouncing one-liners off each other? Sign us up.
Steve and Bradford Are Doing More Than Starring
What makes this project even more interesting is that Burton and Anderson aren’t simply showing up in front of the cameras. They’re part of the creative team behind it. Steve, Bradford, and their creative partner, Stacy Asencio-Sutphen, developed the script, with Zero Gravity Management, the company behind Ozark, set to produce.
There are still some major details being worked out, including financing and distribution, so fans shouldn’t start planning their movie-night snacks just yet. But there is already movement on the casting front. A casting call is reportedly underway for two female leads who will star opposite Steve and Bradford. And you already know soap fans are going to have opinions about who those women should be!
This Could Become an Annual Holiday Tradition
Here’s the part that really caught our attention. The movie is currently being considered as the first installment in a franchise of annual romantic mysteries.
So instead of getting just one adventure with Steve and Bradford, fans could potentially see the duo return year after year with a new Christmas mystery to solve. That actually makes a lot of sense. Anyone who has followed Burton and Anderson outside of General Hospital knows their friendship has become almost as popular as their Port Charles alter egos.
Steve has spent decades playing the usually serious Jason Morgan, while Bradford's Damian Spinelli brings his own wonderfully quirky energy to the canvas. Away from the soap, however, the two have built an entirely different dynamic around their real-life friendship, live appearances, and comedy. Putting that chemistry into a lighthearted mystery franchise feels like a pretty natural next step.

Bradford Anderson Says It's All About the Fans
For Anderson, the idea came back to one simple question: What else could they do for the people who have supported them for so many years?
“We have the best fans in the world, and the constant question we ask ourselves is, ‘What more can we do to entertain them?’” Anderson said.
He explained that when the idea of creating a series of holiday movies came together, they felt like they had found something special.
And frankly, they may be onto something.
Holiday movies already come with devoted audiences. Cozy mysteries have devoted audiences. Soap stars definitely have devoted audiences.
Combine all three, throw Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson into the middle of a strange small-town mystery, and there’s plenty of potential for fun.
But Who Should Play Their Leading Ladies?
Of course, now comes the really fun part — casting.
With two female leads reportedly being sought, soap fans are almost certainly going to start fantasy casting some familiar faces opposite the guys. Could another General Hospital alum join them? Could the production pull actors from another daytime soap? Or will they go completely outside the soap world and introduce Steve and Bradford to two brand-new leading ladies? For now, we'll have to wait and see.
There’s also the bigger question of what kind of characters Steve and Bradford will play. Will one be the straight man while the other gets them into trouble? Will they be amateur detectives? Old friends? Rivals forced to work together? Whatever the setup turns out to be, their natural friendship should give the movie something that can't easily be scripted: years of genuine chemistry.
From Port Charles to a Christmas Mystery
There’s still plenty that has to happen before this movie reaches our screens. Financing and distribution are still being worked out, the female leads need to be cast, and we don't even have an official title yet.
But the possibility is certainly intriguing.
Burton and Anderson have spent years entertaining daytime fans together, and now they're trying to turn that connection into something completely different. And if this first movie works? We might just have a new Steve-and-Bradford Christmas mystery waiting for us every year. Honestly, that sounds like a holiday tradition we could get behind.
