Steve Burton Signs New, Long-Term General Hospital Deal; Stone Cold Is Staying Put!
If you were worried Jason Morgan might disappear from Port Charles again anytime soon, it looks like you can relax. Steve Burton is sticking around General Hospital — and this time, we’re talking years.
Steve Burton Signs New, Long-Term General Hospital Deal; Stone Cold Is Staying Put!
According to TMZ, Burton signed a new three-year contract with General Hospital back in June, meaning fans should have plenty more Jason Morgan to look forward to.
Interestingly enough, the contract news didn’t come through the usual soap channels. TMZ uncovered the information through court documents connected to Burton’s ongoing custody battle with his ex-wife, Sheree Burton.
Those filings also revealed another interesting detail: Burton has reportedly permanently moved back to California after previously making his home in Nashville, Tennessee.
Of course, Burton’s return to General Hospital has already given Jason plenty to do. But knowing the actor has committed to another three years opens the door for GH to really dig into Jason’s future instead of leaving fans wondering when Stone Cold might ride off into the sunset again.
And with Jason’s relationships with Britt, Carly, Sonny, Danny and the rest of Port Charles continuing to evolve, there certainly isn’t a shortage of story possibilities.
For longtime Jason Morgan fans, though, the biggest news is pretty simple:
Stone Cold is staying put!
Now the question becomes what General Hospital plans to do with Jason over the next three years. Could Jason finally get a real shot at happiness?
Will his relationship with Britt survive everything coming their way? And can Jason truly leave his old life behind?
Whatever happens, it looks like Steve Burton will be around to play it out.
