The four-time Daytime Emmy winner, who portrayed the formidable Stephanie Forrester for 25 years, made a special visit to The Bold and the Beautiful set on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. Her return sparked a heartwarming reunion with former co-stars, including Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan), Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy Forrester), Ian Buchanan (James Warwick), and Alley Mills (Pam Douglas).
For fans who still miss Stephanie's commanding presence, seeing Flannery surrounded by her old soap family was a nostalgic reminder of what made the CBS daytime drama so special.
Susan Flannery Says Returning Felt Like Coming Home
Speaking with Soap Opera Digest, Flannery couldn't hide her happiness about reconnecting with familiar faces.
“It was just lovely to be back and see everybody,” she shared.
Although the soap has a new production home, the emotional connection remains.
“It's definitely like coming home in a way, even though it's not the same studio,” Flannery explained.
After nearly four decades at CBS Television City, The Bold and the Beautiful relocated to Sunset Las Palmas Studios in Hollywood in August 2025.
For Flannery, the visit brought back memories of her years playing the powerful Forrester matriarch, including the less glamorous realities of daytime television.
She even recalled the aching feet that came with spending long filming days wearing six-inch heels!
It's a reminder that behind Stephanie's designer wardrobe and fierce personality was an actress who helped build one of daytime television's most enduring families.
Stephanie Forrester's Death Still Breaks Hearts
Flannery originated the role of Stephanie Forrester when The Bold and the Beautiful premiered in 1987.
For 25 years, Stephanie ruled the Forrester family with an iron fist, fiercely defended her children, and delivered some of daytime television's most unforgettable confrontations.
Her legendary rivalry with Brooke Logan became one of the show's defining relationships.
But when Flannery decided to retire from acting in 2012, viewers were forced to say goodbye to a character who had become the heart and soul of the series.
On November 26, 2012, Stephanie died from lung cancer in Brooke's arms, delivering one of the most emotional farewells in B&B history.
The scene was especially powerful because, despite their decades of feuding, Stephanie and Brooke shared a complicated bond built on love, resentment, forgiveness, and mutual respect.
Fourteen years later, Stephanie's absence is still felt.
