Tamara Tunie, currently captivating Beyond The Gates fans as matriarch Anita Dupree, is adding another role to her impressive resume.
Tamara Tunie Steps Into New Role In An Upcoming Drama
The Beyond the Gates star will appear in the upcoming drama Looking Through Water as a bar owner, joining an all-star cast that includes Michael Douglas, Cameron Douglas, David Morse, and Ximena Romo.
Directed by Roberto Sneider and written by Rowdy Herrington and Zach Dean, Looking Through Water is based on Bob Rich’s 2015 novel of the same name, as well as his 2025 follow-up Catching Big Fish. The film also features Michael Stahl-David, Walker Scobell, and more.
Tunie recently shared behind-the-scenes clips from the set on Instagram (watch here), giving fans a sneak peek at her character and the movie’s atmosphere. The official trailer is also available to watch on the film’s Instagram page (see it here).
Looking Through Water is set for a nationwide theatrical release on September 12th. With a heartfelt story, a talented ensemble cast, and Tunie bringing her signature charisma to the big screen, it’s shaping up to be one to watch.
