After the failed talks, Victor clashes with Nikki! Nikki is furious, blaming Victor’s obsession with his feud against Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) for the chaos now engulfing Newman Enterprises. She argues that if Victor hadn’t been so focused on using the AI program as a weapon against Jack, this massive corporate crisis could have been avoided.

Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) catches up with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and finds out about a tough situation. Tessa shares that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) has checked herself out of the Boston clinic and is refusing to come back home. With Mariah cutting off communication and keeping her distance, Tessa admits she's already started the divorce process. Even though Sharon is worried that Tessa might be rushing things, Tessa explains that this emotional separation has been building for months, and she just can't handle the pain anymore.

Victor is uncharacteristically on the back foot when talks with Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) fall apart. Phyllis quickly seizes the opportunity to boast, mocking Victor about their plot to take over Newman and relishing his loss of power. Despite the failed negotiations, Victor is not ready to concede. He firmly states that this is far from finished and silently promises retribution.
