Following the episode’s emotional airing, Floyd took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message with fans and colleagues alike:
"It’s been real GC. What a ride. I have truly been blessed to call myself a citizen of Genoa City. To share the stage with so many talented and hard-working actors, creatives, and crew members. This is without a doubt a special place. I’m grateful to have been a part of such an iconic piece of art that has lasted through the decades and that has such a stellar, die-hard fan base. Thank you for accepting me. Chance will always have a close place in my heart. He’s taught me a lot and I’ll miss him dearly. It’s been an absolute honor to represent the Chancellor legacy. Detective Chancellor, over and out."
Conner Floyd first stepped into the role of Chance in 2021, following a period of recasting and character offscreen time. Over the past few years, he carved out his own legacy in the Chancellor family, portraying Chance with quiet strength, integrity, and vulnerability.
His portrayal spanned romantic entanglements, family crises, and dramatic investigations, most recently involving the fallout of Damian's murder and Carter’s shocking actions. Chance’s tragic end shocked many and marked a pivotal turning point in the show’s summer storyline.
While viewers may be mourning Chance’s departure, Floyd’s moving tribute is a reminder of the deep connection actors form with their characters, and with the audience.
