Secret motel hookups. No expectations. No feelings. Leave separately. Don't get caught. Sure. Because secret sex between a Newman and an Abbott has never blown up spectacularly in Genoa City.
Victoria and Kyle can call this an “arrangement” and make all the rules they want, but the fact that they even need rules should tell them this thing is already more complicated than they're pretending.
Remember when the first time was supposed to be the last time? Well, Kyle is already texting Victoria about what he's going to do next time. So much for that rule. And now they're sneaking around the Riverbank Motel like two teenagers trying not to get caught after curfew. Apparently, they're convinced separate exits and a few carefully deleted texts are enough to fool everyone. Except Esther has already noticed Kyle's suspiciously good mood, and Claire caught Victoria practically glowing at her phone. Victoria blamed it on a funny GIF. Girl, please. The biggest problem isn't even getting caught. It's Claire.
Kyle isn't hooking up with some stranger. He's secretly sleeping with his ex-girlfriend's mother. Victoria and Kyle are both single adults, so technically they're free to do whatever they want. But let's stop pretending Claire finding out isn't going to be messy as hell. And she will find out.
Then there's Victor. Does Victoria seriously believe Daddy Dearest is going to discover she's been sneaking off to motel rooms with Kyle Abbott and mind his own business? Please. But the real joke is Victoria and Kyle believing they can control their feelings. They've already gone from “never again” to scheduling the next round. They're flirting between encounters, competing over who gets to call the shots, and clearly enjoying the secrecy almost as much as they're enjoying each other. That's not exactly screaming casual. “No strings attached” always sounds great until somebody catches feelings. Maybe it'll be Kyle. Maybe it'll be Victoria. Maybe neither of them falls in love, but Claire gets hurt anyway. Either way, somebody is going to pay the price for this little arrangement.
Victoria and Kyle can write themselves a hundred rules.
It won't matter. Because they've already broken the first one: This was never supposed to happen again.
