With Mariah Copeland no longer at Cassidy First Technology, Sharon Newman may soon find herself needing a trusted ally by her side. If that happens, one surprising candidate could be Phyllis Summers.
Y&R Commentary: Should Sharon Bring Phyllis To Cassidy First Technology?
On paper, the idea makes a lot of sense. Phyllis is intelligent, ambitious, and has years of business experience. She knows how to think on her feet, solve problems, and fight for success. Sharon could certainly benefit from having someone with Phyllis' drive helping to steer Cassidy First through its next chapter. The bigger question is whether Phyllis could ever be satisfied working for someone else.
Throughout her life, Phyllis has repeatedly shown that she prefers to be the one in charge. She's built businesses, launched projects, and constantly looked for opportunities to prove herself. Even when she's accepted jobs under other people, it rarely takes long before she starts wanting more control over the direction of the company.
That's what makes a potential partnership with Sharon so complicated.
While Sharon might see Phyllis as a valuable addition to Cassidy First, Phyllis could view the position as a temporary stop rather than a long-term career move. Her entrepreneurial spirit often pushes her toward ownership rather than employment. Instead of helping Sharon build Cassidy First, Phyllis may ultimately want to create a company of her own and become her own boss once again.
Of course, there's also the history between Sharon and Phyllis to consider. Although the two women have managed to put aside their differences at times, their relationship has rarely been free of tension. Working together every day could either strengthen their newfound respect for each other or reignite old rivalries.
Still, with Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) gone, Cassidy First is facing a major transition. Sharon may need someone she can rely on, and Phyllis could be uniquely qualified to step into that role.
The real challenge wouldn't be whether Phyllis can do the job. It would be whether she can resist the urge to take over.
Would Phyllis thrive as Sharon's right-hand woman, or is she destined to build an empire of her own? In Genoa City, betting against Phyllis Summers' ambition has never been a wise move.
