YR Recap For Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025: Mariah Faces Her Demon

“Are You Feeling Lost and Alone Again, Mariah?”

At the clinic, Mariah’s therapy took a shocking turn when a vision of Ian appeared, taunting her with his eerie smile. “You need to open your eyes and see what’s in front of you,” he whispered.

Mariah insisted he wasn’t real — that he was in hell where he belonged — but Ian smirked, insisting, “I’m here with you.” He claimed to be tied to every painful moment of her life, the dark shadow she could never escape.

The Darkness Within

Ian’s words cut deep, suggesting that Mariah’s been trying to hide from the world — or worse, to protect others from herself. He accused her of keeping him alive in her thoughts because she “adores her darkness.”

Mariah fought back with tears and fury, screaming that she’d never be like him. But Ian continued his psychological torture, calling her “fire, rage, and darkness.” He even taunted her about shutting Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) and Aria (Maddie & Millie Ingle) out of her life, claiming it was her true nature surfacing.

Mariah’s Confession

In a stunning confession, Mariah revealed that months ago, she met a man (Michael Swan) who reminded her of Ian. Believing she could finally banish his memory, she went along with it — flirting, drinking, even following him to his room — but stopped herself before taking things too far.

She admitted she wanted to “kill the man who stood in for Ian,” but in that moment realized that violence wouldn’t set her free — it would only feed Ian’s legacy.

“I didn’t need to take a life to get rid of you,” Mariah declared through tears. “You didn’t break me before, and you won’t break me now.”

Breaking Free

As she found her strength, Ian vanished — leaving behind an untorn Queen of Hearts card, the symbol of his manipulation. Mariah looked around, shaken but resolute, realizing she had survived the monster’s grasp once more.

This haunting encounter proved that while Ian Ward may still live in Mariah’s mind, her spirit — and compassion — are stronger than his darkness ever was.
