Former General Hospital star Briana Nicole Henry (ex-Jordan Ashford) is speaking candidly about the rarely discussed emotional challenges of becoming a mother of two. In a deeply personal Instagram post, the actress reflected on the beauty — and the heartbreak — of this new chapter in her life.
"I didn’t know having a second baby could cause such heartache," Henry shared. "Most people don’t like to talk about that part because welcoming a new baby is in many ways beautiful and otherworldly. But it is not just that. Nothing is just that with motherhood. A picture with many different hues."

Henry describes the emotional tug-of-war between falling in love with her newborn son while grieving the change in her relationship with her firstborn daughter.
"I was falling in love with my new baby and missing my first baby like she’d been taken away from me," she wrote, recalling how hearing her daughter giggle in another room would make her ache to be near her like before.
From missing everyday rituals like preparing her daughter’s favorite lunch to those quiet moments before sleep, Henry revealed just how disorienting and emotional this transition has been.
"There’s a grieving that happens when you bring someone else through your portal. A knowing things will never be exactly the same."
One moment that stood out was her return to her daughter’s room postpartum, where she found herself standing alone and sobbing in the middle of the space they once shared so closely.
Despite the ache, Henry also expressed hope for the future — for the unbreakable bond her children will eventually form.
"They will not remember life without each other, and there is also a beauty in that. But I will, I always will."
And when her daughter gently says, “I just want me and mama time,” Henry replies in her heart, “Me too, sweet girl. Me too.”
