Daytime legend Cady McClain (All My Children, As the World Turns, Days of Our Lives) took to Instagram to share her love for her latest role in the hit soap opera drama Beyond the Gates. Posting a heartfelt message alongside a clip that aired earlier this year — and again in July on the WPIX morning show — McClain reflected on what makes the series so meaningful for her.

On Creating Characters
“I love making new characters, new people just erupt out of me,” McClain wrote.
“I don’t know why but I can’t question it. It’s fun. I know it’s partly from the life I have lived but really it’s just what comes out of my imagination. ‘The stew’ has a lot floating around in there!”
Her Beyond the Gates alter ego, Pamela, is far from one-dimensional. McClain describes her as “a party girl, an elegant woman, a devoted friend, a risk taker, an observant witness, a sophisticated lover, a savvy but maddened business person and a woman who understands the power of style.”
The Dani & Pami Connection
The actress also shone a spotlight on the bond between Pamela and Dani, played by Karla Mosley (Guiding Light, The Bold and the Beautiful). “She doesn’t judge her friend Dani because her friend is perfect in all ways (just saying), but mostly because Dani is simply a shining star. And stars MUST be allowed to twinkle.”

Perhaps the biggest takeaway from McClain’s post was her love for working alongside Mosley: “The best part of BTG for me is getting to work with the incredible Karla Mosley. A sweet, generous actor and person who deserves her moment of shine! See you soon, my gorgeous friend!”
With her passion for storytelling and the layered, stylish Pamela lighting up Fairmont Crest, it’s clear McClain is having the time of her life on Beyond the Gates. Fans can expect even more twinkling star power as the drama unfolds.
