Rafe and Jada have a heart-wrenching conversation, she doesn’t believe they have a future together. She reflects on their shaky ground, even before the issues with EJ and Feniger, especially after Paulina gave her Rafe's job. Rafe questions how they got to this point, he thanks her for everything and reveals he plans to resign from Black Patch and take an out-of-town job with the FBI. They share a final goodbye hug.
Rafe examines the recorder and realizes that the memory card is absent. Later, during a conversation with Belle, EJ remembers discovering the planted device before being shot and subsequently takes out the memory card from it.
Shawn and Jada are having takeout at his place. They discuss Belle's feelings for EJ. He receives a call from Hope, who tells him she has BAD NEWS.
