After 24 years lighting up daytime screens, The Young and the Restless star Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe Mitchell) is adding a new title to her résumé: director.

The actress took to Instagram to share the exciting career news, reflecting on her journey from actress to director:

“After 24 years in front of the camera, I’m thrilled to be able to tell you all that I’ve stepped behind it. I’ve spent the past 18 months up in the booth, shadowing, observing & absorbing — not knowing if it would ever turn into something more. There were hurdles but I kept showing up, paying attention, and fell in love with the process.”

Hendrickson revealed that her first directed episode of the CBS soap will air Tuesday, August 5th, and it features none other than genre icons Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman).

“The privilege (and pressure :) of working with two giants of our genre on my first day was not lost on me,” she wrote.

The actress expressed her deep gratitude to the Y&R cast, crew, and leadership team for supporting her directorial dreams. She gave a special shoutout to Executive Producer/Head Writer Josh Griffith, as well as the production and directing team, and praised Owen Renfroe, calling him “the best teacher and mentor I could’ve asked for.”

Fans can celebrate Hendrickson’s exciting new chapter by tuning in to her directorial debut. It’s another major milestone for a beloved actress who continues to make her mark on Genoa City — now from behind the camera.
