General Hospital Ages Up Scout Cain: Kayden Brenna Tokarski Takes Over The Role

General Hospital is officially aging up Scout Cain, and the role has been recast. According to an exclusive report from Soap Opera Digest, actress Kayden Brenna Tokarski has been tapped to take over the role of Scout Cain, the daughter of Drew Cain and the late Sam McCall. Her first appearance is expected to air in July.

Tokarski succeeds Cosette Abinante, who has portrayed Scout since 2022. The decision to recast the recurring role was reportedly made in an effort to age up the character, who was born on-screen in February 2017.

Who Is Kayden Brenna Tokarski?

While this marks Tokarski's daytime television debut, the young actress is already building an impressive résumé in film and primetime television.

Tokarski first gained widespread attention for portraying the younger version of Julia Roberts' character in the Emmy-nominated Starz series Gaslit. She has since appeared in several television movies, including Lifetime thrillers My Professor's Deadly Secret and Killer in the Woods.

Her growing list of credits also includes the upcoming biopic Bruton, where she plays the daughter of actor Theo Rossi. The film features a notable cast that includes Tony Hale, Aya Cash, and Tammy Blanchard. Science fiction fans may recognize Tokarski from Roswell Delirium, in which she stars alongside Anthony Michael Hall. She also appears in the upcoming films Curse of Vandor and its sequel, both featuring former General Hospital actress Dee Wallace (ex-Pat Spencer).

Most recently, Tokarski wrapped production on the neo-noir thriller Quads & The Kicker in May 2026. In addition to acting, Tokarski serves as a Youth Ambassador for the Breaking the Chains Foundation, an organization focused on empowering young people and raising awareness about mental health challenges.

A New Chapter for Scout

Although Scout has largely remained a supporting character throughout her time on General Hospital, aging her up could signal bigger story opportunities ahead. As the daughter of Drew and Sam, Scout remains connected to several of Port Charles' most prominent families, including the Quartermaines and the McCalls. With Sam's death continuing to impact those closest to her, an older Scout could become an increasingly important part of future storylines.
