According to a new report from TV Insider, General Hospital is welcoming a fresh face to Port Charles. Actor Troy Lennon Appel has joined the ABC soap in the contract role of Hudson, a character being described as both new and mysterious.

While details surrounding Hudson remain under wraps, Appel is already embracing the whirlwind pace of daytime television.
"Working on GH has been nothing short of an incredible, fast-paced experience," Appel shared. "Everyone is very professional; they're on top of every intricate part of this very established, well-oiled machine, and I'm just trying to keep up and not halt the process in any way."
The actor went on to praise the welcoming environment behind the scenes at General Hospital.
"So many of the cast and crew have gone out of their way to welcome me, and I am immensely grateful for how simple and easy this transition has been," he added. "I owe it all to them. They know what they're doing, and I hope to learn as much as I can and add to the show, to the best of my ability."
Appel brings several credits to the role. According to his official website, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Communications from Muhlenberg College. His previous work includes appearances in Finding Master Right and Menflix, as well as starring in a music video for Hayley Orrantia's song, "Find Yourself Somebody."
With Hudson being introduced as a contract character, viewers can likely expect the newcomer to make a significant impact on the canvas. Whether he'll arrive as an ally, a love interest, or someone with secrets of his own remains to be seen. One thing is certain: Port Charles may want to prepare itself, because Hudson's arrival could shake things up in a big way.
