Laura visits Lulu as she unpacks her new place and notices Dante's close relationship with her. After Laura leaves, Lulu finds a vase from Tracy labeled, “Love, your Stepmonster.” Lulu tells Dante she's pursuing freelance journalism and has a story with the Llanview Banner about adoption.

Nina informs Portia that they must stop Drew before he destroys everything. They devise a plan that includes a mysterious woman named Jacinda, who is revealed to be a sex worker spotted leaving with Ezra. Nina and Portia intend to use this situation to their benefit.

Carly informs Jason of her preparations for a custody battle to obtain Michael's children from Willow. Jason expresses his displeasure. Carly learns of Willow's visit to Michael and becomes incensed, suspecting that Michael harbors lingering feelings for her.

Brook Lynn and Chase chat with Lois about their plans to adopt, but Lois seems a bit uneasy. When they ask her about the agency she used, she fibs and says it shut down years ago. Even though Brook Lynn and Chase feel a bit let down, they're still keeping their hopes up.
